So this feature request would lift Studio One into another league of sequencing and enable live performances as well!

Currently you have tracks for instruments, multi instruments, audio and automation.
What I would love to have on top of all that is a track for a special new sequence triggering instrument!

What does that do? Well, basically it's an instrument track but it plays full sequences / arrangements instead of being a single instrument and multiple sequences / arrangements are mapped across the keyboard (note ranges, zones)!

You would define a full sequence / arrangement with an editor very similar to the scratch pad and then map this sequence to a note range on the the triggering instrument in the main arrangement. This way you can map multiple sequences across your keyboard and trigger each of the sequences you have mapped with simple midi notes!!

Triggered sequences would live in their own space - so they are not really part of your arrangement but can be launched / stopped by playing the triggering instrument.

This new triggering instrument shall allow to record your performances as simple notes on their associated tracks so the track basically behaves as if it would be a normal instrument playing whole arrangements at the press of a single note.
Releasing a note would stop the triggered sequence and retrigger it once you press the key again.

Some extra features for this request:

Additionally you could trigger full sequences live by just playing some notes on your keyboard.

Playing chords could allow layering multiple parts on top of each other again just using simple notes.

Velocity could control the volume of each sequence.

Eventually you could have a release curve (when releasing a note) for fade-outs of triggered sequences instead of muting them immediately.

Triggering instruments could live inside the triggered sequence (aka nesting!).

Several parameters of the referenced sequence (track params, instrument params automation targets etc.) could be exposed through the instruments macro controls.
