I'm setting up a new studio and use Studio One. I'm trying to determine what is my optimal audio interface (I need 24 channels). I'm going to have the snake / stage box 28 feet from the PC / mixing desk. It appears that I might be able to leverage AVB but I'm not sure how this works. Can I use AVB with the Quantum interface? Can I leverage the 24R as an audio interface? It appears that I can save some serious cabling via AVB but I'm at a loss as to what are the best options. Historically I've used an AudioBox and I'm happy with the results with StudioOne. But, that setup was right next to the PC and did not require the 28 foot run. Thanks for any suggestions.

The Quantum is a Thunderbolt interface and requires a computer that can have a valid thunderbolt port.

The Series III uses both USB and AVB for recording purposes. You will need to have a valid AVC capable port on the computer.

New Mac that have thunderbolt are in general both thunderbolt and AVB ready. PC's on the other hand will need 3rd party hardware for AVB.
