Question

I would like to record at 110 BPM and then bump the tempo up to 150 BPM for playback.  I have tried by simply setting the tempo to 110, recording and then setting the tempo to 150, and while it will change every other recorded tracks tempo, it will not change the tempo of the track I am trying to record at the slower tempo; it stays at 110.  I have the setting for "Stretch audio files to song tempo" checked.  I can speed it up by right clicking on the track and changing the "Speed Up" box but I don't want to do all the math required to figure out the % to speed up every time I want to do this simple trick. What am I doing wrong?

I can answer my own question.  In the Inspector window, Tempo must be set to Timestretch.  It has to be set that way when you record the track, so I simply needed to re-record that track and bada bing bada boom.  Thar she blows.

Well, unfortunately the fix I discovered will only work once - or perhaps only on Tuesdays.  That sucks.  Any ideas how to record slow and play back faster?  Will any other DAW do it?  If so, I'm getting a copy of it :-)

HA!  Now it won't record and play back at the same speed I recorded.  Speeds up slightly - on any track, even the ones that worked fine an hour ago.  Boy am I glad I didn't upgrade to version 4!
