I'm trying to record a multi-track song using voice only and no additional instrument input.  How do I record the vocal melody line on one track and the harmony line with it on the second track?  I want to be able to hear myself singing the melody line so that I can sync up in different parts of the song with my harmony line and have it recorded all together in one song.  This seems like such a basic thing to be able to do but I'm at a loss here because all the multi-track tutorials I've watched/read involve using a guitar input and don't addresst laying down vocals on top of vocals.  Help?  Can't this be done?  I'm low-tech but learning and practicing the basics.  Please be patient with me!  Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

If you are able to record multi track guitar tracks according to tutorial you mentioned, you're not too far off.

It's possible you simply have to assign the correct input of your vocal tracks to where your mic is going in to your interface. You will have to create a new track for each harmony. Can you provide precise details on each difficulty you're having?
