Question

What does not appear to be working - as the video tutorials and all "in program" instructions indicate - is the midi send/receive from the same external device via the AudioBox iTwo midi ports with the iMac connected via the USB 2.0 port on the AudioBox iTwo. I can find no answer as to why the device - an admittedly "older" Roland DR-5, (what can I say?!? I am "old skool") which does send/receive MIDI clock and MIDI Clock Start signals - is not able to send and/or receive MIDI information to StudioOne, when all indications are that it should. I have previously accomplished this successfully to my Windows 10 PC via a $20 Roland UM-ONE Midi interface. However, the PC processor is not suitable for processing the audio in DAW, which is why I purchased the iMac system for exclusive use as my DAW.

I have followed all instructions to the letter and still have had no luck with the midi in/out functions in StudioOne. If someone with the same or similar issue is reading this, and you have managed to overcome this challenge, your input would be appreciated. Aloha.

This answer was previously the question, and the question here was actually answer. 

Wow! This program is complex for my level of understanding! Finally got midi to record and play back after reading Studio One 3 : Global and Focus MIDI Mapping in the Knowledge Base 'New Features' section. I also had to place the device (Roland DR-5) in Song mode to allow the iMac clock to synch and control. Lastly, it also helped to widen (pull down) the track from the default setting to view options that were previously hidden. Sweet!
