Is there something wrong or did I miss something. Gain control does not work with digital input.

I can't use the gain control when I send a digital input from a source to the Dante into my mixer.  Is there something I'm doing wrong?

This is for a StudioLive  16.4.2AI

Gain control is for analog inputs only. It would have no effect on a digital input.

So how does a person control the gain?
