Question

Hi all,

I'm recording drums and wanted to experiment recording some of them post fade to hear how it'd come out through S1. I designated which channels in UC I wanted to send that way and when I recorded, it didn't seem to take-there are no effects on them that I'm hearing pre fade in UC. Did I miss a step?

Use of Pre-fader vs. post-fader is typically for when you need to control the level for multiple destinations of a signal or to retain the level of an inserted effect, so I'm not sure why pre/post fader is what you are focusing on.

"To hear how it'd come out through S1" - S1 is just the DAW.  Unless you are using input monitoring and have applied some effects, it won't sound any different than if you used Hardware monitoring.

Do you want to hear the effects you applied to the drum tracks while you are tracking?
