Currently, when I try to playback (or record/monitor) audio from my computer, the audio only comes out in Mono. This was not happening 2 weeks ago  - I have been running my laptop and audiobox for sometime, as I play often live with a stereobacking track and midi keyboards. I must have changed something unwittingly, as now all my audio is in mono. Regardless of if I plug my headphones into the headphone output, or use a conversion cable that runs ANY of the dual rear mono outputs into one stereo plug ,the audio plays in mono and comes out both headphone speakers as one blended track. It's weirder than that, because if I pan the audio hard right or left, regardless of if i do this within ableton, or via the audiobox mixing software, it becomes far louder, as if the signal is being cut when panned centre. I have master wav files that are already stereo audio, and previously, if I played them through ableton, assuming I had routed the audio through the monitor to each output, I would get stereo playback. Now I get only this weird mono sound.

I believe it must be the Audiobox software and not the routing of the ableton, as other programs running audio through also are in mono.

When I pan a track hard right in ableton, then look at  the linked DAW 1&2 in the Audiobox monitoring software, it shows the output only playing on the right channel (DAW 2) as expected. However the audio still comes through both headphones, playing all the tracks at once. This is the most bizzare as it seems to show the monitoring software is receiving the ableton signal that the audio channel is only in the left, (it not only shows it in the DAW mix, but also on the outputs, showing 5/6 and 7/8 as only sending right audio), but all I recieve is mono signal.

I am trying to set up a live click for a drummer to play along with backing tracks, and this issue is proving impossible for me to do so, as the panning issue effects the volume of each track.

Have you tried un-installing and re-installing the drivers for the Audiobox? Sometimes if you leave the auto update on... things can go a bit askew...

Make sure the output tracks in the VSL software are linked and panned left to right.

Hey I had this problem as well, with 8 port presonus firestudio 2nd gen, and basically if you have the universal control software installed with the drivers you need to open up the universal control and turn off all the mixers on the right side so studio one does not assume you want to use more than one DAW in the outputs because it makes it mono by default as an input, so that should fix the problem..
