Trying to link PreSonus to Garageband to record bass.

Hi folks,

I have just bought a PreSonus AudioBox 22VSL. I bought this ostensibly to record bass to a better standard than my M-Audio M-Track 2 would allow. I don't have a bass amp yet, I simply want to use bass for recording purposes and would prefer not to annoy my neighbours downstairs.

As a recording novice, I just started using Garageband a couple of months ago. Doubtless I will graduate to a higher level of recording in due course but at the moment I want to record on this until the end of 2019 as I finish a project I have started.

My problem is that this interface, while working fine and providing a good enough sound, is not allowing me to access the various bass sounds on Garageband that I would like (admittedly few as they are). Everything is set up in terms of inputs and outputs everywhere, and also in my Preferences. I am hearing the bass fine through my headphones. I just can't change the bass sound.

Any help would be appreciated. I understand Logic Pro, Studio One etc are all better but I would just like to finish this project on Garageband first and get the best bass tone I can in the process.

Regards

Simon

P.S I am running all this through a MacBook Pro 10.14 (Mojave)
