That isn't an answer to my question. I've waited about a week and you give me nonsense? Does anyone there know anything regarding procedures for recording Vocals using an Outboard Mic Preamp, 16.4.2 Mixer Interface & Pro Tools?
I'm experiencing difficulty recording vocals as to how the 16.4.2 should be best set up in the Signal/Recording Chain to achieve optimum results.
I'm using Neumann U87 & TLM49 for Vocals. I'm also using a high end Custom built Neve 1073 Clone Pre Amp for Vocals. I want to run them into the 16.4.2 interface & record in Pro Tools 10 on my Apple MacBook Pro Computer & 1T External Hard Drive.
I'm not achieving the Vocal sound quality with the 16.4.2 Pre Amps that I desire. The 16.4.2 Pre Amps seem good for Instruments but aren't High End Commercial Grade for Vocals IMO.
1. Assuming the 16.4.2 Trim/Gain a Pre Amp should be utilized with an Outboard Pre Amp for optimum results? Or should it be set to 'U' or Unity?
2. Should the 16.4.2 channel Fader be set at 'U' or Unity?
Would you please provide Step by Step recommendations?
It would be very helpful to have a Phone conversation. Had I known that wasn't possible I probably wouldn't have purchased the 16.4.2. Very unhappy about that.
If I can't get assistance from you I'll Have t sell the 16.4.2 & purchase another Interface that has live Customer Support. In that event you certainly won't get recommendations & referrals from me.
Annoyed Customer,
