Considering that audio monitored through a DAW has the latency of both the input and output buffer, but audio coming from VI's only is subject to the output buffer, it would be great if there was an option to have VI's at a buffer/block size double that of the host size when in low latency monitoring mode.
Currently for very demanding VI's, like Diva, I have to bump the buffer setting up to 64 to record, and then when switching to recording vocals, can go back down to 32. Considering that a buffer for VI's @64 represents the same RTL as audio monitored through at 32 this would be handy to have a setting that offers the same RTL for both.
Also a quad option for VI's would be welcome here. IMO the lowest latencies are required for mics because of comb filtering that can happen with a delayed headphone feed gets mixed with acoustic sounds in room. I would love to be able to monitor mics @16 samples, and VI's at 64.
