You never know what has happend in the pause, when Capture and computer were running in stand-by mode. Touching the FireWire cable can already lead to problems. Or a short disturbance of electricity. All you can do is to check and test how mixer and computer work next time. Also check the insert card and the connectors. The FireWire ports can easily get pushed inside, or the card might be not sitting propperly.

Recording on AI mixers (I had several) was always reliable and so is recording on Series III mixers. The only difference is USB instead of FireWire. USB connections are not necessarily "better". Audio quality is very good for both FireWire and USB. The 32R has an inbuilt stereo SD recorder, the consoles allow 34-track recording via USB.
