I'm toying with the idea of replacing my sadly deceased Macbook Pro  with a 2 in 1 touchscreen laptop running windows purely for convenience really and a Mac is no longer the necessity it once was for me so I'm wondering, do any of you guys have one? I know Studio one supports touch screens due to raven etc but how much use can I actually get from touch, can I stretch and move things aswell as zoom etc and can I control things on an open softsynth or effect and such like, I just think it will be a nice chilled way to work with ideas rather than sit at a desk all the time, I have the desktop unit for that after all.
Or am I just better off with a traditional type laptop I wonder.
Many thanks in advance for any help on offer, really appreciated!!

Your multi-touch screen will work great using TUIO mode in Studio One. And yes, it does everything you're asking about and more. There's definitely a learning curve: for example, it took me a while to learn how to use touch to do a data zoom in the music editor. I'm not familiar with the 2-in-1 computer, but as long as the touch screen you have works with your computer's OS you should be fine. The required gestures are defined within Studio One.

That said, multi-touch is a very different way of working. I like it. Some people don't.

I find a combination of multi-touch, mouse and keyboard shortcuts to be the most efficient.

Craig Anderton did a great article on the subject, which is followed by some useful opinions and discussion. Sorry, had a quick look, but couldn't find the link. Google is your friend. Hope this helps.
