I apologize if this has been answered and I just couldn't find it, but does running a firmware upgrade on our new board wipe out the settings, mixes, etc that we have already put into use, or is all of this information retained?

No it does not.

It's always a good idea to do a backup anyway, this can be done from the UC Surface menu on your system or on your tablet.
