I have an iMac 21.5 (mid 2011) running ElCapitan. 10.11.3

I heard VSL is no longer supported (? confirmation please)

If not, how do I route my headphones so as to be able to utilise the Phones monitor pot?

Hmmm... there were some problems with Intel i processors but I hadn't heard that, perhaps this is what you need?
