Thank you for the response. Looking at it more closely, it seems that this behavior (the instrument's sound extending beyond the given measure) applies to MIDI files I created using my keyboard and then import in Studio One...but that if in Studio One I create a new track and add the instrument "fresh" (or copy the track's data to a new track in Studio One), the expected behavior results (that is, the sound stops at the desired endpoint).
