Wow, I am SHOCKED I even have to ask this question here.
I went to Studio One (V.2) today to do a simple project: Import a song and lay over a live vocal / talking track as a gift to my sick Uncle.
• I opened Studio One on my Mac and went to Audio Set Up.
• For Audio Device, saw options for Built In Microphone, Built In Output, and my Yeti USB Mic. What? None of those are what I would call a "Device" as in an integrated input / output device. They are unique inputs and outputs but not a device! What about just seeing "Mac System Audio" or... Confusing AND none of them worked for both being able to monitor audio using my computer system audio AND making the Yeti my computer Mic show up as the input. Crazy making!
• AND, in top of that, I was also NOT able to enable my audio track to record even when I was seeing an input signal (even though I could not hear anything as the system seemed to only let me select Built In Mic OR Output but not have one for input and one for output.)
Before asking the question here, I searched and searched for a solution which was part of the madness making at how hard finding an answer to simple question was and that I did not actually even find an answer.
Why is it sooo hard to just record something in Studio One? Seems like a simple task! Just seems way too confusing and dysfunctional to accomplish something so simple that I have wasted so much time for a task that should have taken me 15 minutes. Ridiculous Presonus!
