Question

So is this since I upgraded to the latest version? Not sure but now whenever I'm using some VST instruments (which isn't that often - so I can't be sure when this started happening - I tend to only record audio and comp in S1 - I mix in Mixbus 32C ) the spinning ball appears every few minutes, the "packaging: editor.xml" then goes through some stuff and it can be as long as 20 seconds or even more before Studio One is responsive - if it's in play mode it keeps playing but I cannot stop it.

This is extremely annoying, every five minutes or so (I'll have to switch off auto-save if that's what it's related to). I really don't remember S1 being this bad with midi. Distracting and interrupting the creative process.  

Mac Pro, 3.46 6 core,  32 GB memory running High Sierra, so it's not a running out of steam issue, and in any case this is happening with just Impact and SampleTank 3 loaded.

I forgot to add - doing a simple repeat of a midi region using D also takes ages, instead of filling out almost immediately if I'm say repeating a drum pattern 25 times, it takes several seconds to add them.

Anyone else, or comments?

OK so I've reverted back to 4.6.1 and it's the same problem. I just tried selecting 5 regions of 2 bar midi region and copying instead of using repeat (or duplicate) and now - see screen shot - S1 is more or less frozen. It actually took over 2 minutes to complete the copy and paste.....

I guess this is a tech support problem - I'll raise a ticket but I wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Exactly the same for me. I waste my time with this problem of copy and also intempestive packaging. Copy some patterns is sometimes very long. I try to erase all the midi layers its better (it seems)

Same thing here!! Exactly the same! I'm trying to create and it's delaying a lot! I"ve printed all the tracks and it is still happening. Are you guys using Arthuria synth? I'm using the their VSTs here. Hope people from Presonus to fix it! I'm sure they will!

Yes, packaging editor xml pops up frequently; audio continues, studio one is not responsive to any commands. I'm using no midi on this song, 8-10 tracks, with melodyne on 3 vocals. Sometimes it will stay "frozen" for 10 minutes. Sweetwater techs couldn't fix it. Presonus techs.... we will see.

It sounds like this is happening to enough people that Presonus should have it figured out by now. Any clues??
