Question

I want to set up my RML32ai Rack Mixer in the control room of my studio and connect it to my 27 inch iMac in the control room. When I do location recordings I just set up the laptop next to the mixer and connect via Firewire. But how do I connect them when the mixer and computer are in 2 separate rooms? I'm assuming via AVB. So do I have to go AVB out of the mixer into an interface, then the computer? Or can I go AVB out straight to the computer? I tried that but when I opened my DAW the computer didn't "see" the mixer

Recording from a RM mixer requires using the firewire connection. The AVB on the RM is not the same as a Series III which would do what you require.
