I have followed every instruction I can find on the PreSonus and Cakewalk websites, but I cannot get my FaderPort Classic to work in Cakewalk by Bandlab. No matter what I do, there is no PreSonus FaderPort in the Controller/Surface drop-down menu. I have tried selecting Mackie Control, but that doesn't work either.
Am I going to be able to use the FaderPort Classic with my Windows 10 machine and Cakewalk by Bandlab? If so, how?

Yes, you need the FaderPort DAW Profile install utility.

It's buried on the download page for FaderPort, under "show all downloads" at the very bottom of the page.

Here's the link for the Windows installer

I tried FaderPort Classic to work with Cakewalk but failed. I installed FaderPort Classic driver and selected it from list of Control Surface but no response. I didn't try it for Sonar, probably was the same.

I tried FaderPort V2 by Mackie Control mode, it does work with Cakewalk, because FaderPort V2 doesn't come with Cakewalk mode from factory. I won't try FaderPort Classic by Mackie Control mode because it's meaningless for FaderPort Classic, a device which has specific Cakewalk mode.

Oh yes, there is a genius made an AZ Controller driver lets FaderPort Classic does work with Sonar (Cakewalk also maybe)

Glad I'm already registered and I recall now I'd done so to search this very issue so while late to the party....YES the CLASSIC (tan model) does work with Cakewalk by Bandlab. It took a bit of online research but in the end not really difficult to add it to the setup/configuration options.

BUT!!!!!!!, it failed to work for me in one dealbreaker aspect and finally confirmed by further research. I could not get the Footswitch setup to START/STOP Record. That is..NO Punch in/Punch out by footswitch. It would only start/stop the play button. So finally caused me to abandon Cakewalk despite my enjoyment of it.  Moving to Reaper, it took yet more research and experimentation with the Presonus configuration files (some easy coding language you can follow by example in lines already written in the file) to get the footswitch to emulate hitting Record as well as map out some other useful functions such as Markers I think. It became easy to do but god help me if I have to re-learn the method. So in summary, it technically works with Cakewalk when I'd used it in earlier 2021 (Windows 10) but not fully functional in key aspects for me. Can't speak for the newer Faderport(s????).
