So far I have been successfully using my Studiolive 1602 firewire console, as a sound interface connected to my macbook laptop with logicPro X. but recently I have bought a new Mackbook equipped only with Thunderbolt-3 ports. (MacBook Pro13 inch, 2020, 4 ports Thunderbolt-3 and macOS Catalina 10.15.5.software).

Although I have performed the following steps my new laptop does not recognize my studiolive mixer connected to the laptop.

1) Following Apple's instructions, I have purchased the original Apple adapter cables to adapt the firewire connector to thunderbolt-3.

2) I downloaded the package (Universal Control v1.7.6.5875 for OSX) from the presonus website, and installed it on my laptop in the following order:

First I have installed (PreSonus Universal Control.pkg), and then I have installed (PreSonus FireWire Driver.pkg)

Both packages have given me the message of "Installation successful"

3) I have reset the laptop

4) I have connected the cable with its adapters from the mixer (firewire), to the laptop (thunderbolt3) and then I turned on the mixer.

The problem is that the Presonus Studiolive 1602 sound interface does not appear now as an option in the logicPro X or in the sound preferences of the computer, and instead when I test with any other of my audio interfaces (f. i. MOTU, Apogee ..), they all appear correctly on my new laptop.

Please could you tell me what is the solution so that the new laptop can recognize my Studiolive mixer?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

Jerónimo Castañé.

A StudioLive 16.0.2 on Catalina requires the firewire driver to be installed from Universal Control v3.3.0.59348.

Good afternoon,

I am going to comment on the solution to the problem that I have found, in case it happens to someone else.

After having been reviewing everything that I thought could be the cause of the problem, I have seen that the failure is due to the macos10.15 (catalina) software, from what I have seen it blocks the complete download of the Presonus drivers by default , although the download process appears successful download.

The solution is to go to "system preferences" and in the "privacy" section it appears that the system has blocked the complete download of the Presonus drivers. you must then select the allow option.

and it is already solved. :)

now everything works correctly and I can continue to enjoy my studiolive1602 firewire mixer connected to my new macbook laptop.
:)

Regards,

Jerónimo
