Hi, I´m trying to import an audio file but it alway´s get stretched or somehow pitched up. I deselected tempo follow and also the checkbox in the song option menu but it still changing the pitch of the audio. It´s an mp3 file...how can I just import the audio as it is without being processed in any way?

thanks

Could it be possible that if I have the metronome on, that the importet file get pitched up or down somehow. It´s really strange because it is not doing it all the time. I just don´t know why it is doing it and on what it depends. I export the audio from reaper in an mp3 format. than I drag and drop it in studio one which I´m running on 48k 24bit. But it should change the pitch of imported audio no?

It's pretty common to stretch/ shrink audio and not change the pitch. It does by either skipping frames or by removing them. So no that wouldn't affect much. I'd recommend exporting as wav and not mp3 for sound quality reasons and I'd make sure that the tempos are the same on both projects. And I'd also check that Reaper is exporting at wav at 48K 24-bit. But I don't know if that will help or not.

thanks for the answer. sound quality is not important for me because the file will be removed later on anyway, it´s just a guideline. Strangely now it seems that it is working also with the mp3 file. I really don´t know what it is or was but if I find out I let you know.

Hi. This might be it:

Open the inspector for the event. If 'file tempo' is a number, then the audio might be stretched to fit the tempo of the song. Make sure it says 'not set' - you can actually type this in the box.

Hope this helps.
