Auto save needs to enter a suppression mode if you’re in the middle of doing something.

I had an older Mac Pro. It was all I had though. It got taxed when many things were going on.

Auto save just popped up while I was in the middle of moving a whole line of midi notes. Since I was already engaged in executing a command, moving notes, when autosave kicked in it bogged me down to a stop. Studio one froze, corrupted my save file and force closed. My song is now gone and studio one can’t even open anymore. It freezes on start up.

This is really stupid design. Auto save should be suppressed if you’re in the middle of something. Song playback, moving midi notes, recording, whatever. If it’s time to autosave, studio one should WAIT for the next free opportunity to do so. It should NEVER interrupt whatever you’re doing.

My computer was not strong enough to be in the middle of playback, moving midi notes and engaged in autosave. And it paid the price. I’m having graphical errors on screen, my drivers stopped responding, my fans won’t even turn off because the processor is so hot. I can’t even get on the Internet now. Yeah I needed a new computer. But seriously. Wtf. Autosave can’t be told to wait it’s turn?

This is probably the only reason why Studio one is hated by some. The autosave is terrible. And time and again so many people have asked in this forum to execute autosave in the background and not in the main workspace area. Presonus, please fix this ASAP
