Why would conversion from .wav to .m4a fail?

Studio One Prime on Windows 10.  Converting .wav files to .m4a in the browser I get the error message "Some of the files did not convert." and am left with a 0-byte .m4a file.  My bandmate on MAC has no issue converting the same file.

.m4a files are the Itunes format.  I would recommend using WAV or MP3 for convenience while using Studio One.
