i cant get this popping noise to stop when recording or during play back and the mic levels are low even when turned all the way up

Sounds like you are using a buffer size that is too low for your system.

Ctrl + Comma to get to the settings page.

If you increase the Device Block Size, do the pops and clicks go away?
