Can I use my old 1818VSL in lieu of a DP88 with my new Studio 192 for additional inputs?

I just bought a new Studio 192 to replace the 1818VSL that I have used for several years.

I am considering buying a DP88 to pair with the new Studio 192 for additional inputs (I record a large drum kit and want more inputs for toms.)

Can I use connect my 1818VSL via ADAT to the Studio 192 to gain the extra mic preamps? I know that the 1818VSL isn't supported anymore and I'm a bit leery on trying to use it in this capacity. Any information or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi.

I own an 1818VSL myself - it's still my main device. I remember reading somewhere a while ago that the 1818VSL can not be used in this way i.e. as a stand alone ADAT interface. Unfortunately, I can't find the source but I am certain this is the situation. At any rate, it can't do any harm to hook it up and see what happens. Good luck.
