Question

From PreSonus website:  "Want extra-deep low end? Pair compact Eris E3.5 BTs with PreSonus’ powerful Temblor® T8 active subwoofer for a truly full-range sound system that fits almost anywhere."  So, how do I play music from a Bluetooth source and have the subwoofer work properly?  Normally, you'd hard wire out from source into sub, then out of sub into satellite speakers, but if there's no hardwired source, and no sub out on the satellite speakers, how does this work?

Chris, Yes, I talked to the folks at PreSonus and they said that it was incorrect copy in the subwoofers description. He said that they would change that soon.  There is no way to pair the subwoofer with the satellite speakers via Bluetooth

To do this you really need a DAC.  Sources into the DAC, then DAC out to the sub and then into the powered speaker.  If you want to use the blue tooth, well, there is no way to do that.  However, if you get a DAC with blue tooth you are golden.  Or, if you don't need USB inputs, just get the Presonus Microstation BT and use that as your DAC.

Why would you make Blue Tooth monitors that have no way to connect to the matching sub woofer??? If we are running blue tooth it goes to the monitors, and the sub has no proper input from the Monitors.  Who was the genius at PreSonus who didn't put a direct out from the monitor for the matching Sub????  I guess I just have to splice some wires.  Next time take a coffee break and have a sound person play with your new toy before you make a million of them.

Actually, although the documentation may have misstated you can connect a subwoofer via Bluetooth you need to think practically about it. Only one zeros 3.5 speaker has Bluetooth. You need to physically connect the 2nd speaker to get it to play. The same would go with the subwoofer. You would need to have a physical cable connection to get it to play.

Here's how I got both, I have the 5BT and the Sub8, to both play via bluetooth in Windows. I followed this youtube guide:



It requires a Virtual Audio Cable, I downloaded the same Lite free version that's in the video. I paired both the speakers and the sub to computer with Bluetooth. I ran the Audio Repeater (MME), not sure the difference with that and the (KS) version, but the MME worked. Kind of a pain yes, but both speakers and sub now play via Bluetooth with no wires connecting the speakers with the sub.
