Question

As I look through the zillions of instructional videos, It looks like when creating/recording a track, a vertical fader appears at the bottom of the screen. What do I need to select to have this happen? Sorry, I know this is a baby steps question, but, well, there you have it.

By vertical fader I'm assuming you mean the mixer. If that's the case, click on the bottom right hand corner where it says "Mix".

As above but also by pressing F3 on the keyboard.
