I think this has something to do with the connectivity of your 24.4.2 desk to the computer. I bet if you switch the audio device to built in sound you do not have this issue, but then of course you could not communicate with the mixer in StudioOne.
The first step is to check out the Firewire card on your machine.
Even though you may have had connectivity with this card in the past unsupported card can display strange behavior like this. So we should start here.
Also how large is this file? How many tracks?

Run the .exe file, then open the program. Click "Scan now." Then, take a screen shot of the results. Create a support ticket to support, and attach a copy of the screen shot to the ticket along with the answers to the questions.
