Hello, I am a new user to Studio One.  I am trying to get my Roland-VAD 306 drumkit to work in Studio One 5.  I have connected through Midi and am getting output on a Instrumental track, but nothing comes out during playback.  I have searched the questions and found several items related and have tried all of those, but to no avail.  I have created a new keyboard and made both the send to and receive to for the TD-17, and tried each separately.  I created an instrumental track and a audio track.  I get output on the instrumental track, but nothing on the audio track.  I have played with the settings on both Studio One and the TD-17, but still do not get any playback.  This should not be hard.  If I add an external device and a instrumental track and am getting output, then Studio One should be able to do a playback for it.  I am really frustrated in jumping through all these hoops to get this to work.  It really should not be this hard.  I know that this seems to be answered in several posts, but as I said, I have tried each option and am getting no place.  I would appreciate any help in order to get this to work properly.  I am using a Windows 10 desktop, Audio Box USB96, and Studio One 5.  I hope this is enough information, but if anybody who could help needs more information, I will try to supply more.  Thank you all for any help.

After working and searching and playing with settings, I finally got my drums to work.  The simple trick is if you do have a Midi connection and are getting output from it, you need a drum engine to add to the track.  For the time being, I took the Classic Kit in the drums folder in Presence instruments and dragged into the track.  Poof...... I got drum sounds on the song that I created.  Seems like a simple fix that you don't have to jump through so many hoops to get it to work.

Now, another question.  The drum sounds are soft, volume wise even though I have the volume turned up, compared to the other instruments in the song.  Asking for opinions here, is that something that can be fixed in mixing or would it be better to get different software such as Superior Drummer or EZ Drummer?
