In short, when I press the select button on the Faderport 16 on any channel, it also opens up whatever is first in the chain (usually an instrument). So if I have maschine open on channel one, a piano on channel two, drums on channel three, and I press select on any of them, it will also open that VST. I close the window, press select again it re-opens it. When I click with my mouse or use my toggle wheel on my S88 keyboard this doesn't happen.

I'm on a Mac M1 Max, Ventura 13.3 - not sure if this is conflicting with the system, a shortcut override, or a setting in faderport vs in Logic. Would appreciate some help. I'm loving everything else about the unit so far! :)

Thanks in advance!

Ok so I figured it out:

For others having this issue with pretty much ANY controller. From your drop down:

LOGIC PRO / CONTROL SURFACES / CONTROLLER ASSIGNMENTS / NAVIGATION / NO MODE / PARAMETER 0 - Now on the right hand side check the 'EXCLUSIVE' box.

If you have more than one controller, you'll have more than one NAVIGATION row, do the above steps in all of them.
