I cannot get a song to have two tempos. Is there a special trick?

I am very happy with progression. One thing I have noticed is that there are some tricks to achieving a desired outcome, for example, I have found that there are some things that cannot be done, like pasting chords on top of a silence (has anyone else experience this?); pasting chords on a lead sheet must be done on top of notes, although it makes sense theoretically, it is not practical and defeats the "copy and paste" natural flow.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
You can add a tempo change anywhere you like - use the metronome mark tool in the Palette (or Shift+_ ) to add as many tempo changes as you wish.

To add chord symbols to an empty measure - you can add to beat 1 in an empty measure. To add to other beats, you can add rests to the bar, attach the chord to a rest, then right click on the rest and select Hide.
