Sorry I didn't know how to word it, but I'd like to hear my other takes while I'm recording, so I have a guide to follow. When I record, all the layers are muted, including the one I'm trying to solo. With layers being a thing, I shouldn't have to make a new vocal track just to use previous takes as a guideline right?

I have the S3 Pro version.

Edit: I am not talking about new tracks, I'm talking about the layers within one track where I can record multiple takes. I was hesitant to ask any questions because of elite users who suggest that one knows nothing of the program just because they have questions.

Found my answer. It isn't possible to solo a layer within a track to use it as a guideline, while recording on that track.

When you hit Solo, it will mute all other tracks by design.

All you need to do is not hit Solo, just add another track, hit the letter T on your keyboard to bring up the Track Menu, enter how many tracks you want to record and hit OK, they will appear in the channel list in your arrange view.

Select the track you want to record on, select the Record Button. Do this for each new track you want to record on.

Each track you recorded previously will playback while you are recording the next one and so on.

We suggest investing some time in yourself to learn how to use the program.
