hi--just bought studio one pro--when trying to edit song in project, song opens with immediate clipping showing level 666 & getting loud machine gun sound out of speakers until I shut program down--please help

That is usually caused by a misbehaving plugin. You would need to deactivate all plugs, then reinitialize one by one until the culprit is found.

fat channel usually can do this to my s1.  disable it, save and restart s1.  you can then get back to fat channel and turn down the auto gain on the comp.  let me know if that works for you.  tomp.
