Question

If both of my RM32AI modules are in the same rack (I'm not splitting between stage and sound tech booth), can I configure Wifi for UC control and then direct-connect their AVB ports for audio, to avoid buying an AVB switch - or is the AVB switch required.  I understand it would be required if you want Audio + Control wired directly in.

If you just want to control your RM's, this works by WIFI or a single Ethernet cable. How to set this up, is described here: http://support.presonus.com/hc/en-us/articles/210047643-StudioLive-RM-Mixer-Wired-and-Wireless-Network-Setup-and-Troubleshooting. In this set-up audio is available only through the physical mix outs, the connectors on the back and through firewire.

If you want to use AVB, you have to get an AVB switch. AVB is not only audio and control, it is also for network use like cascading two RM's and I/O and stagebox mode
