1818VSL Driver / Firmware - 1.3 or 1.8.3?

So why Presonus propose new driver & new Firmware if it's no needs to update??

1.3 driver is working well (better than 1.8.3) with Yosemite / Sierra? I don't understand this conception...

What is better with 1.8.3?
