I just received a cs18ai, rml32ai, and rml16ai. I'm trying to cascade these over AVB using the Motu switch but with everything plugged in properly and all firmware updates complete I only see the rml32ai in my dropdown box for mixer control. I do see both mixers in UC surface and I can cascade them there but I never see both on cs18ai HELP HELP HELP - Does all of my cabling have to match and be CAT6 ??

related to an answer for: Cascading issues please help

Cascading means that two mixers become a single 64-channel mixer (page 5 of the "Mixer Cascading Reference Manual"). You see the Master Unit as "mixer", which probably is your RML3AI. How many channels do you see on your CS18AI? Can you handle 32+16 physical input channels plus 16 network channels?

I am using CAT5 cables and they work fine. It might make sense to only use one kind of cable (no mixture of CAT5 and CAT6), but I never read that this has caused problems.
