But could a shop just replace my two XLR/1/4" inputs instead of PreSonus? Isn't that a universal part?

So I understand that PreSonus won't fix this problem since my Firebox is at End of Service, but does anyone know how hard it is to replace these two inputs?  I'd think they were a somewhat universal part that could be replaced by someone with a steady solder hand.  Anyone tried this before?

Theoretically (and I do mean theoretically) as long as it is just the socket that is faulty and not the logic inside somewhere, it should be relatively straight forward. the first thing would be to source the dual input sockets. That said, they are likely to be soldered straight to a PCB board inside rather than connected with wires, so you would really need to check it out first.
