I want to add additional microphones to my drum kit. Is there a way to insert a new channel between two existing ones? If not it will be a lot of work to reenter data.

Use the copy & paste function of your mixer or UC Surface. Moving existing channels with all their settings and adding a new channel should not take more than one minute... ;-)
