The current smart tool is great, but it's a bit weird when it comes to clips, particularly the clip edges. It'd be nice to have different regions at a clip edge do different things.

Like the lower part of the clip could be used to stretch the clip, the middle part for drag to duplicate/loop (like in Cubase), top part for fades or just even nothing (stays as the range selection tool, like Pro Tools)

This suggestion could use refinement, but you get the idea.

Confusion factor, even from the SMAART developer on your question? Is this in deed a SMAART (room equalization software implementation on the SL consoles or something else? Please be more specific...
