Question

I'm collaborating songs through email and received a piano midi file from a musician who played the part in S1 Artist. I will take his performance and put a better piano sample to his midi track in my S1 3 Pro. The track sounds like it was quantized to the nearest 1/2 note, missing all the intricate parts he played. We don't want it quantized and his S1 Artist quantize seems to be off. Any ideas why his midi file is coming to me as if quantized?

Hi Walter,

Studio One has a function "Musical Functions > Restore Timing" which is part of the song file.   You may be able to restore the original performance timing using that function given that it's all part of the song file.
