In terms of hardware - the Studio 192 definitly has the capabilities to support surround sound.
I connected my surround system to the outputs 1-6, then realizing that the Studio 192 doesn't support native surround at all!

Yes, I can use surround in Cubase (or any other DAW), yes I can route this signal to the right outputs, yes this method works.

But sometimes I just want to lean back and watch a movie - surprise! No surround. Why? Because in VLC you can't route the signal.

It should be possible for the user to configure the windows outputs, so he can decide whether they are supposed to be mono stereo or surround. And then - let us control them in UC-Surface. Now, we're forced to use stereo, even for the inputs!

Pleeeeease, make them mono... In stereo it's so irritating.

Shortened:

Please add surround compatibility to Studio 192 and UC Surface, let us route the windows in- and, most important, outputs by ourselfs.
