Question

Hey there.

Messing with ampire xt (which is really good) I noticed that, despite other ampsim solutions, it doesn't have, in the stompboxes session, a fuzz pedal. That's an effect which I really like and it's sad that it doesn't come with the plugin.

So I've come across two more immediate solutions: the AU/VST support extension (what would make things more expensive, since I would have to buy it AND the VST) and the Ampire metal pack extension (which doesn't a fuzz effect listed). Before heading to any of them, I would like your help: does anybody else here enjoys fuzz effect? Have you ever got a good fuzz sound with ampire (even together with another studio one resource)? How?

Learning the elements of a good Fuzz sound, like from the perspective of a certain artist sound you want to emulate would be a good starting point. Then you can use the built in efx in Studio One to put together a good guitar efx chain.

In Ampire, using the Tube Driver with the Equalizer, and the basic knob controls, you should be able to get pretty close with out having to add third party VST support.

However, I definitely recommend adding VST support to Artist: https://shop.presonus.com/products/software/studio-one-add-ons/VST-and-AU-and-Rewire-Support

That would open up your choices for all the free and paid third party VST guitar effects.
