When I have my CS18AI connected to my RML32AI vi Ethernet direct connection. I cannot connect to the RML32AI wirelessly.  Is there some way around this?

Yes, if you have purchased the approved Wireless Adapter from the webstore (Does not come with RML's).

You will need to setup a Wireless network with a router. Then setup the RM for wireless connection with the adapter. Once that is done, you can direct connect the CS18 and RM together using Static Self Assigned IP's under ethernet.
