After I record, a hissing sound is very apparent on playback.

This has happened on 2 different computers (same OS) using the same Audiobox USB device. One was recorded using Adobe Audition and the other was just a native MP4 file for a screenshot video I was doing using Snagit. I've tried using different USB ports and have switched the mic jacks on the Audiobox USB. I have also done recordings without using the Audiobox and they are clear and without the hissing.

A clue is that on one of the computers if I removed the USB connection and then plugged it back in after a moment the hissing would stop. After a few minutes though it would return. I have not been able to replicate this temporary solution on the 2nd computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If one device has the same issue on different computers, the problem may be the device.

You should contact PreSonus support for possible repairs.

Could also be a grounding issue.  AudioBox is powered from USB cable.

Try isolating the power supply to your computer away from anything else.  Try connecting to its own electrical outlet.  Try another room.
