Running a 32Ai via ethernet into an Apple Airport Extreme, each band member then uses an iPhone or iPad to connect to the wireless network, we give each full permission over their individual mix to control ears. Last night, after hooking everything up and booting up the mixer, when starting up UC Surface on my iPad, the mixer showed up twice in the device list (I can assure you we only have one mixer present), each with what I think was a different IP Address, something like 10.0.1.4 & 10.0.1.5 if I remember correctly (unfortunately I didn't take a screen shot). This was the case for everyone who tried to connect. Also, I went in to the Settings tab and into Device Permissions, and each iPad was also showing up twice.
After a minute or two, we'd lose all connection to the mixer, it would freeze up and we'd have to power down and reboot it. We got through the night by disconnecting the Airport Extreme from the mixer, and connecting one MacBook Pro to the mixer via Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt cable which stayed connected.
I'll double check all app versions and mixer Firmware, but we've been playing night in and night out without this problem occurring, so what could have caused it all of the sudden?
Thanks in advance!
Derek
P.S. As a follow up question: If we run an ethernet cable out of the 32Ai directly into the Airport Extreme, then all devices connect to that network, do we also need the USB dongle plugged into the mixer?
