Studio One Remote obvious improvements

I've just downloaded and installed Studio One Remote v1.2 for Windows, latest version at the time of this post. I'm very pleased with how smooth it works, and I'm amazed and very grateful you provide this tool for free.

I would like to report a few small issues I've encountered, and some suggestions too:

  1. Double-tap on a fader resets it, but double-click (with mouse) does not.
  2. Buttons on the Commands Page are too big. On my Surface Pro 4 the app will only display 4x5 buttons, It should be able to display at least 3 times that many buttons. The current button size seems like it was designed for people with disabilities. Maybe there should be options to adjust button size.
  3. NO visual feedback on Commands Page buttons. For example, the "Click" button doesn't change colour to reflect "metronome active" and "metronome inactive".
  4. When the mixer contains more faders than can be fitted horizontally on the tablet display, if you scroll all the way to the right so as to reveal the rightmost channel, then expand the right-most channel view and then subsequently collapse it (using the triangle button), the mixer scroll position will "jump" by a certain amount, to the extent that the channel you have just collapsed is no longer visible on the screen!
  5. In the plugin parameter editor, horizontal  sliders are labelled "knobs" which they are not. They are sliders. In fact, knobs would not only use up less screen real estate but would also look nicer and be much easier to operate (sliding vertically, rather than horizontally).
  6. It would be very nice to have a plugin editor where, kind of like a generic MIDI controller, where users can manually assign parameters to virtual knobs, faders and buttons of the S1 Remote app, just like we can do with hardware MIDI controllers. This would be similar to what Lemur does, although I wouldn't expect it to be as full-featured as Lemur. However, S1 Remote would display the correct parameter names and values when plugin focus changes. This would actually be truly amazing!!

Thanks you!

The ability to resize buttons would be a huge benefit to my workflow!  Using the buttons to trigger macros is one of the most extraordinary (hidden) features of S1, and I could absolutely use double the number Remote is currently able to display at once.

One obvious improvement to the app that comes to my mind right away is to make it available on mobile phones too, not only tablets. I can see why Presonus designed it for the tablet primarily (more surface area) but Logic Remote works on iPhones too - the point is that not everyone has tablets but (almost) everyone now has a smartphone and there are features that can be still used perfectly on a phone. For example, having a single fader view with DAW controls (play, stop, record, return to zero) would be fantastic for a person that a writes music alone and also plays multiple instruments, like drums. When I work in Logic, I can take my iPhone to my drumset and hit record from there (and also monitor the process a bit). I think Studio One Remote should have this functionality - I miss it a lot.
