This request has 2 parts. This feature request is meant to speed up workflow. It is meant to have as on option in the settings.

1.

Lets say you click the timeline and chose a start position just before the beginning of a midi-event or Melodyne-event. Then zoom in on the notes and follow along on the screen as the song progresses. You hit Space every now and then to pause the playback and perform edits, then press Space again to resume playback from paused position. You do this a couple of time until you worked your way through all the edits you wish to do in this section.

Now, it would be convenient to simply press the "Return the cursor to last chosen start position" and press play to hear the whole edited passage in context! Simple and elegant. (Not having to exit the zoomed-in view and manually find the desired starting position again.)

2.

As an addition to this, it would also be nice to have an "undo history of last stating positions" that you go back in simply by pressing the same key command several times (Shift-pressing = redo last starting position).

How this request relates to already existing features in Studio One:

The already existing feature where you press Stop twice won't let you do this, since it only goes back to last paused position, and not the last chosen starting position. Last chosen position meaning where you last set the starting position by clicked in the timeline or navigated the cursor to by markers or pressing fast forward/rewind.

Please let me hear you thoughts on how to improve upon this.

In Cakewalk's Sonar, one could set the default as "return to start", which would return the "Now Time" marker to

where you started, when you pressed spacebar/ stop.

But then to stop and edit, all you had to do was press [Shift] + Spacebar to over-ride the auto-return...!

 Very handy that over-ride feature...
