Question

I haven't touched any settings, but I looked over them and everything seems to be set up properly. I can hear myself in real time through my headphones, and sorry if this sounds stupid, but I can't find the button to start recording. Nothing shows up in the bars/space.

Not knowing what audio device or OS your using the question is difficult to answer here other than saying please read through the entire reference manual section Recording step by step, which lays out the steps for recording audio or MIDI in pretty good detail.
