I'm running Studio One 3.5.4 and taking advantage of the dual latency set to Maximum. My audio interface is an AudioBox itwo. I can usually run 3-4 instances of Kontakt Factory library Strings and not peak out the CPU. However, one instance of Mai Tai using the Chillwave pad preset on normal quality, and it maxes out my CPU with just 5 notes playing with no other instruments or plugins in the song. I even went in and changed the number of voices to 12 from the default 32 with no affect.
Granted I do not have a newer computer. Mine is a 5 year old HP Pavilion 1240p which uses an AMD A10 570 processor and 8 gigs of ram. In general, the cpu usage seems to be way more than Sonar. Is this a real issue, or does S1 just require a newer and much faster machine?
Its a REAL pain to constantly having to render instruments to audio back and forth to be able to hear everything and still create. Is Presonus working to reduce CPU usage?
